The overall pattern is becoming clearer. Progress is shifting from raw model performance towards usability, reliability, and embedded automation across existing workflows.

Among the largest companies, OpenAI appears to be continuing its incremental rollout strategy, focusing on improving multimodal reliability and developer tooling rather than announcing entirely new model classes.

The emphasis is increasingly on making systems dependable in production environments, particularly for enterprise use cases where consistency matters more than novelty.
